With a history dating right back to 3,000 BC, Oman’s unspoiled Land could tell us a thousand tales. It was the birthplace of the queen of Sheba, the last resting place of prophet job and the home and port of the famous adventurer, Sindbad the sailor. So it is no wonder that the sultanate Of Oman has such an abundance of hidden treasures. From the Grand Forts, Exquisite Palaces and Mystical Souq’s of the Capital Muscat, to the Undulating Dunes, Fresh

Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque:

Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque once set the record for the largest handmade carpet and largest chandelier in the world. The Grand Mosque in Muscat is still a piece of art that you must see. The hall of prayer is decorated with colorfully appealing mosaic designs. The best of Islamic architecture is expressed in every corner of the mosque. The Great Mosque is more than a simple mosque. It occupies 416,00 square meters and contains a spacious library, excellent gardens, and marble stone walks. Expect to visit Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque for 4 hours. Non-Muslims are allowed to visit the mosque’s interior and wander freely at its premises.

Royal Opera House Muscat:

The epitome of luxury and fine architecture in Oman. It reflects the core of Oman’s cultural heritage via its modern luxury in a showcase of global excellence. The Royal Opera House Muscat has been open to the public since 2013, meaning you don’t need to attend a show or join an official tour to visit anymore. Muscat’s Opera House also has a collection of international boutique cafes on site. If you are visiting in the summer months make sure to drop by Caramel for a quick bite and a drink.

Muttrah Corniche and Port:

It also hosts the first port in Oman, where the Sultan’s Yacht is located.
Walking along the corniche (beach side) you’ll pass the Tower of Frankincense: an iconic Muscat monument. You will find a staircase alongside the corniche which leads up to an ancient watchtower.

Test the view over the day from the watchtower to see the turquoise blue waters on the other side. While there is a souq in Muttrah I do not suggest spending a lot of time there. The new market is packed with Chinese washed-up goods and less items that really are Omani.
