Coronavirus: Oman will suspend tourist visas to all countries

As a precautionary measure against coronavirus, Oman News Agency reported, the Sultanate of Oman suspended all tourist visas for one month, beginning March 15th. The decision was taken during a special committee meeting formed to tackle COVID-19 outbreak.

The Committee discussed various aspects of handling the pandemic and took decisions:

1. Stop all country tourist visas.

2. To suspend all sports activities of any kind.

3. Stop all non-class student activities while at the same time taking into account procedures that could later be conducted according to updated pandemic data.

4. Stopping the entry of cruise liners to Sultanate ports.

5. To limit attendance of the court session to only the parties concerned.

6. To ban the customers from serving shisha at all licensed outlets.

The panel also suggested non-travel overseas, except in emergency situations, carrying out preventive measures at veneration sites and family gatherings and cinema halls.
